Sell out audience for The Head Wrap Diaries raises £420 for the Glebe

A full house thoroughly enjoyed the latest Live & Local show at The Glebe on 11th November. “The Head Wrap Diaries”, by Uchenna Dance is an exhilarating and humorous dance/theatre show. We enjoyed exploring the life long relationship between women and their hair. The company used story-telling through physical African traditional and contemporary dance. The show is set to a sizzling sound track of R’n’B and Ghanaian pop music.

Many people enjoyed the opportunity to chat with the cast after the performance. The braver tried their hands (or heads) at head wrapping – some with more success than others!

We may have set a Live and Local record for the widest audience age range ever – 88 years! Kathleen Blunt has recently celebrated her 99th birthday, and Hannah Eastwood at 11 was the youngest!

The next Live & Local show at the Glebe in on 17th February 2018 – tickets for this amazing duo from the States are already selling well, so don’t miss this great show. More information here, and book tickets here.
