Lesley Smith captivates audience with her portrayal of Katherine Swynford and raises £1,780 for Daycare

The Glebe was bursting at the seams for this fantastic performance by Lesley Smith, the curator of Tutbury Castle, and arranged by Di Fretwell as a fund raising event for Daycare at the Glebe.

Dressed in a sumptuous gown true to the period, Lesley explored the fascinating life of one of the most powerful women in English history. Her account was peppered with humour and attitudes which are just as relevant today. The Q & A session could have gone on for ages, with many of the audience asking questions – all of which Lesley could answer without hesitation. – a consummate performance.
