“Call Mr Robeson” enthrals audience, and raises over £630 for the Glebe

On Saturday, Tayo Aluko brought his compelling and emotionally charged  award-winning show “Call Mr Robeson. A Life, with Songs.” to Crich. Tayo received a standing ovation from the capacity audience at the Glebe for his extraordinary performance.

Tayo interspersed the extraordinary life story of this singer, actor and civil rights activist with some of Robeson’s most famous songs. These included “Ole Man River”, “Battle of Jericho”, “Nobody Knows”, and many others. Iain Jackson provided the live piano accompaniment.

This was a great finale to a sell-out Live & Local season at the Glebe.

Future shows by Tayo can be seen here
